Custard Pie
Old fashioned creamy custard pie with a hint of nutmeg!
Servings: 8
Ingredients
- 1 pie shell
- 4 lg. eggs slightly beaten
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 3 c. milk scalded
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- nutmeg for sprinkling
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- In a large bowl, combine eggs, salt, and sugar. Slowly whisk in scalded milk and vanilla extract.
- Pour mixture into a pie shell and sprinkle with nutmeg.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes. Allow pie to cool completely.
