Hi, I’m Dusty Hutchins-McNutt, Executive Chef and Owner of Cooking Mamas an online recipe resource for those who love to cook!
I’m also the author of “Stirring Up Memories” cookbook, a treasured collection of Tried & True Family Recipes.
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, my recipes are influenced by an abundance of fresh fruits, vegetables, and SEAFOOD. I love to experiment with new flavors and ingredients, incorporating different cultural influences into my cooking. I strive to create quick and easy meals that are nutritious and appealing for the whole family.
I’m married to my BEST friend and childhood sweetheart, Dan McNutt. We’ve been married for 45 wonderful years! Shortly after we were married, we started Candew Concrete, Inc., a local construction company. In 1988 we opened our deli Pioneer Pizza & Subs, a lifelong dream of mine. I worked as a full-time Bookkeeper/Owner/Operator for both businesses and later served as Head Bookkeeper for Haggen Food & Pharmacy.
We have five AMAZING kids, Nevaeh, Zach, and his lovely wife Hannah, Caleb, and Allie.
We adopted our first son Zachary 33 years ago, he brought great JOY to our lives and we spoiled him rotten!! He was driving our boat and making French Toast by the time he was 3 years old…Seriously!
We had always dreamed of having a large family, so 23 years ago we decided to foster children with the hope of adopting again. Little did we know, God had BIG plans for us, we adopted three more children, Allie, Caleb, and Nevaeh, each one a BLESSING. We can’t imagine our lives without them!
As a family, we spend a lot of time around the water, swimming, boating, fishing, beach-combing, and of course, COOKING together. Life doesn’t get much BETTER than this!
UPDATE: Well, I was wrong, meet my twin grandaughters Lilly Ann & Lacey Mae. Life just got a whole lot SWEETER!!
And just like that, they’re 4 years old!
