Simple Sangria
"The beauty of this Sangria recipe, is that it's as delicious as it is easy, and only gets better as you spice it up with your own additions!"
Servings: 6
Ingredients
- 1 (1.5 liter) bottle red wine
- 1 1/2 c. fresh orange juice
- 1/3 c. brandy
- 1/3 c. granulated sugar
- 2 nectarines pitted and cut into wedges
- 1 orange cut in half then sliced
- 1 lemon sliced
- 1 Kirby pickling cucumber sliced
- 3 c. seltzer or club soda chilled
- ice cubes
Instructions
- In a 3 to 4 quart pitcher, combine wine, orange juice, brandy, and sugar; stir until sugar dissolves. Add fruit and cucumber
- Cover and refrigerate until well chilled, at least 3 hours or overnight.
- Just before serving, stir in seltzer. Pour sangria over ice filled glasses.
- Cook's Note: I like to use Merlot or Shiraz, but you can create a lighter punch with a crisp white or rosé.
