Steamed Carrots

Steam baby carrots in your microwave for a quick and easy side dish.
Course: Side Dish
Cuisine: American
Servings: 1

Ingredients

  • 1 c. baby carrots
  • 1 T. water
  • 2 tsp. orange juice
  • 2 tsp. honey
  • 1 dash ground ginger

Instructions

  • Put baby carrots in a microwave safe container with the water.
  • Cover with a paper towel or plate and microwave on high for 3 to 5 minutes or until tender.
  • Drain, toss with orange juice, honey and ginger.

    I’d like to make for four. How do you increase time?

      Hi Kate,
      Technically, you would double the time for 2 servings. I wouldn’t cook four at a time, because microwaves are notorious for cooking unevenly, especially if it doesn’t have a turntable. In short, cook in two batches!
