Pineapple Angel Food Cake

Pineapple Angel Food Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 (16 oz.) pkg. angel food cake mix
  • 1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple in its own juice, un-drained
  • 1 (12 oz.) cont. frozen whipped topping thawed
  • maraschino cherries for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a large bowl, stir together the cake mix and pineapple until well combined; batter will be frothy.
  • Pour batter into an ungreased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes, until golden brown. Let cool.
  • Cut into squares and top with whipped topping and a cherry if desired.

    Looking at the recipe, does it mean NOT to follow directions on the angel food cake mix and to only combine the mix with the pineapple?
